Il GISM è stato costituito nel mese di Ottobre 2014 da 53 Soci Fondatori, nella maggior parte Ricercatori delle più importanti Università e Associazioni di Ricerca Italiane. Attualmente conta vari Soci Ordinari, Onorari e Sostenitori. La principale finalità del GISM è la promozione dello scambio di informazioni tra ricercatori che operano nel campo delle cellule staminali mesenchimali, dando particolare enfasi alla loro applicazione clinica. The Italian Mesenchymal Stem Cell Group (GISM) was formed in October 2014 by 53 founding members, most of whom are researchers from the most important Italian universities and research associations. At present, GISM includes several ordinary, honorary, and supportive members. The main purpose of GISM is to promote the exchange of information between researchers working in the field of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), giving particular emphasis to research on the clinical applications of MSCs.
