It is the objective of Glanmorfa Care Home to provide Care to each of its Clients’, whether they are Residential or Day Care, to a standard of excellence which embraces fundamental principles of excellent care practice, and that this may be witnessed and evaluated through the practises, conduct and control of the quality of care in the home. It is a fundamental ethos that these Clients’ who live in the Home or use the Day Care Service should be able to do so in accordance with our “Philosophy of Care.”
It is the object of the Home that all Clients’ shall live in and have the use of a clean and safe environment and be treated with respect, dignity and sensitivity to their individual needs and abilities. Staff will be responsive to the individual needs of the Clients’ and will provide the appropriate degree of care to assure the highest possible “Quality of Life” within the Home.
At Glanmorfa Care Home we aim to provide our Service Users with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort are of prime importance.
Carers will strive, with continued training, to preserve and maintain the dignity; individuality and privacy of all Service Users within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in so doing will be sensitive to the Service Users ever changing needs. Such needs may be medical/therapeutic (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional and social, and Service Users are encouraged to participate in the development of their individualised Care Plans in which the involvement of family and friends may be appropriate and is greatly valued.
This will also include programmes of activities designed to encourage mental alertness, self-esteem and social interaction with other Service Users and with recognition of the following Core Values of Care, which are fundamental to the philosophy of our Home:
PRIVACY, DIGNITY, RIGHTS, INDEPENDENCE, CHOICE and FULFILMENT.
