VAL’s aims are to help people with learning difficulties, to validate their understanding of where they fit within society by placing value on the contributions they can make, despite the many difficulties that they may face. We feel that it is important for the people that we work with to have a clear understanding of what represents an outcome, or an achievement, that thing that makes them feel warm inside or makes a parent think “I knew they had it in them”. It’s about the smile that you see as a result of what someone has achieved.
