About Global Forum For Development (GLOFORD) Uganda
Global Forum For Development (GLOFORD) Uganda www.gloford.org is registered with URSB as a company limited by guarantee and also an indigenous non-discriminatory Christian organization championing and leading on community organizing and transformational development through mentorship, collaborations and partnerships, advocacy, entrepreneurship, skills exchange and learning while using Human Rights Based Approach, Value Based leadership development models alongside many other models for community and nation building. GLOFORD was born in Lira in 2008 and first registered as Community Based Organization (CBO) with Lira District Local government on 7th April 2010. In 2015, GLOFORD was registered as a national NGO with Registration Number S.5914/10939 and has been operating as a national NGO since 2015. As required by NGO law of March 2016, GLOFORD Uganda was again registered after the expiry of the old registration with a registration number INDR109395079NB. GLOFORD’s niche is in driving community and individual transformation through value-based mentorship, agribusiness development, target group training and mentorship, system strengthening, advocacy, and leadership for young people and communities through training , mentorship and system strengthening programs delivered through her proven Youth Parliament for youth governance and leadership development, Youth economic empowerment ad poverty reduction using (IDIL-Identify together, Design and co-create, implement, Learn, Adjust and Upscale) model, Rescue, Rehabilitate, Empower and Deploy –RRED) model for urban youth empowerment, while making significant strides in championing climate justice and promoting environmental conservation. Our decade of youth work, have made an impact around; 1. Youth participation and governance 2. Protection from Urban Violence 3. Youth and poor community Economic Empowerment. 4. Climate justice 5. Sexual Reproductive Health Rights. 6. Rural and urban Poverty reduction programs
