NETWAS Uganda

The Network for Water and Sanitation NETWAS Uganda is a local non- profit making organization that was registered in Uganda in 1996 to provide services in the water supply, sanitation and hygiene (wash) sector. NETWAS Uganda is affiliated to NETWAS international, which is part of the International Training Network (ITN) for water and waste management, which supports the activities of the sector in developing countries. NETWAS International is also a member of ITN Africa Network, which is actively involved in playing a catalytic role in the water and sanitation sector development activities in Africa. VISION “A center of excellence in capacity building and knowledge management in the WASH sector at local, regional and international levels” MISSION “NETWAS builds capacity through training and organization development support; promotes a culture of learning and improvements in knowledge management covering Networking, Research and Information dissemination for improved service delivery in the WASH sector” GOAL “To contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of especially the poor in terms of Water, sanitation and Hygiene” In its operation NETWAS Uganda targets vulnerable communities in both rural and urban settings focusing on Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) promotion. NETWAS upholds capacity building, knowledge management and evidence based advocacy as key pillars in its program implementation.
