Global Hobo

Global Hobo was born from empty pockets, open minds and permanently itchy feet. We consider ourselves the definitive hub for world-savvy dirtbags who steer clear of the beaten path. Our ethos is a collage of youth, frugality, liberation, social commentary and cultural relativism. We provide a space for writers to share original views on destinations, experiences and social trends. Our aim is to open our readers’ minds to fresh perspectives, show them new parts of the world and have a good laugh at ourselves and each other. In addition to being an independent media platform, we also run month-long writing workshops and language exchanges for budding freelance journalists and aspiring travel writers. These programs are run in Bali and Japan in Australian university holidays, and are taught by a team of passionate young editors and journalists from around the world.
