Global Human Settlements Foundation

The Global Human Settlements Foundation (GHSF), chartered on November 29, 2023, in the State of New York, is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity organized to operate exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes. Our mission is to promote a greener, healthier, and more livable planet for all. The Foundation aims to promote global sustainable development by encouraging and rewarding innovation and leadership on sustainable cities and human settlements, as well as in the mitigation and adaption to climate change. Specifically, GHSF is dedicated to supporting and amplifying the efforts of the Global Forum on Human Settlements (GFHS). As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity recognized by the United Nations and holding the Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC since 2015, GFHS serves as a global platform for high-level dialogue and is committed to promoting sustainable cities and human settlements for all. Since 2005, GFHS has been convening its annual forums at the UN headquarters and across five continents for 18 consecutive years. The prestigious Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements Awards issued by the GFHS have become one of the world’s most important recognitions on sustainable development.
