The Global PFAS Science Panel is a collaborative partnership among academic researchers, regulatory scientists and policy analysts dedicated to enhancing understanding of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and to protecting human and environmental health from potentially adverse effects associated with PFAS through better informed decision-making.
Our mission is to foster development of high-quality scientific research, steward information exchange, and coordinate advancement of science and policy to address the class of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) as a global concern. We are facilitating international collaboration among scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders to address the following objectives:
- Identify research priorities as well as collect and synthesize existing information with respect to PFAS, including persistence, mobility, bioaccumulation, exposure, biomonitoring, and toxicity data.
- Establish a system to differentiate between essential and non-essential uses of PFASs and work toward the global phase-out of non-essential uses of PFASs.
- Coordinate scientific inputs for policy processes and communicate with scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders throughout the scientific community.
