Global Quality was founded in Tel Aviv in 1994 by Amitai Selbst (MS in Industrial Engineering from Ben Gurion University, MBA from George Washington University)
and Hagai Alster, (MS in Materials Engineering from Ben Gurion University) . The partners continue to own and manage the firm.
The aim of the firm was to integrate "Smart Home" systems into both residential and commercial buildings. These are systems which are designed for the central control of a multiplicity of functions such as lighting, windows and blinds, electricity and audio-visual applications.
The headquarters of the firm are in Tel Aviv, with branch offices in Istanbul Turkey, Almaty Kazakhstan, Baku Azeirbijan and Panama. Its markets extend from Israel and Turkey into Central Asia, the Caucasus and Central America. Currently it has more than six thousand installations operative in thirteen countries.
With a team of Russian speaking experts in the fields of engineering, programming and marketing, the firm is well qualified to function efficiently in countries previously affiliated to the Soviet Union.
GQ works in partnership with a number of internationally known manufacturers, among them Lutron Electronics, Origin, Danor, Moon, RTI Technologies, Liberty Cable….
GQ has recently expanded its activities into the field of planning and installation of Photo Voltaic (PV) systems in commercial and residential properties. This has been made possible by recent changes in regulations in Israel, and similar regulations expected to be ratified in Turkey in the near future. The new regulations open the door for property owners to derive substantial benefits from solar energy production.
