The Global Shapers Community is a network of Hubs developed and led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their drive to make a contribution to their communities. A non-profit organization and an initiative of the World Economic Forum (WEF), The Global Shapers Community was established in 2011 by Professor Klaus Schwab.
Today, this grassroots movement has evolved to over 10 000 Global Shapers, including Alumni members, in 400 city-based hubs in 165 countries and territories. Under the motto “Shape your future”, the organization encourages young people to represent the winds of positive change in a wide variety of contexts. We believe in a world where young people are central to solution building, policy-making, and lasting change.
In order to become a Global Shaper, one shall be between 18 and 27 years old and be a resident of the Hub city. Each Hub is comprised of motivated and collaborative members that are diverse in expertise, education, income and race and truly strive to improve their community through civic participation and create lasting impact.
The Global Shapers Sofia Hub was founded in 2015 and has had members from various backgrounds – social entrepreneurs, media and marketing experts, producers, lawyers, consultants, musicians, teachers, researchers, event managers, and energy Traders. The outstanding diversity of the Hub has led to the successful execution of a number of projects.
