Global Shapers Community Imphal Hub

The Global Shapers Community is an initiative of the World Economic Forum. It is a network of Hubs developed and led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements, and their drive to make a contribution to their communities. Global Shapers Imphal Hub was founded on Sept 2015. We aim to gather the best individuals from various background and walks of life; in and around Imphal, recognizing diversity and inclusivity as our biggest asset. In 2023, amidst ongoing communal conflict in Manipur, we launched "Multiplying Smiles," a transformative initiative aimed at supporting displaced children. Under the the project we seek to establish mini libraries at relief camps, through which we aim to transform relief camps into vibrant centers of learning and opportunity . Throughout our journey, we have engaged in impactful initiatives such as “Bleed with Pride" launched in collaboration with the Deputy Commissioner Imphal East, that challenges menstrual taboos, promoting hygiene and breaking stigma among adolescents, honored with the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2020 and "Shaping I," motivational sessions for school children, Notably, in 2016, we led "Rebuilding Kabui Khullen," aiding the relocation of a village after an earthquake. Under our "Shaping Environment" initiative since 2017, we have implemented projects like the eco-bag initiative and urban wall gardening, contributing to environmental sustainability. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, our "I Care -Mental Health: Response" project addresses critical mental health issues through targeted sessions for diverse age groups.
