Established in 2019 in New York (USA), GSI’s flagship surgical care facility in rural Eastern Uganda - the Kyabirwa Surgical Centre (KSC) - has become a center of excellence for surgical research, training, and care, providing safe, quality, and affordable ambulatory general surgery, laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures, fully powered by renewable energy (solar) and collected rainwater.
Through telemedicine and ongoing mentorship, local clinicians benefit from our global academic medical partners' expertise, which ensures the highest standards and enables handling complex cases in a rural setting.
