GLOCA is a non-profit civil society organization registered in Turkey (Reg. No. 27-028-048) and Switzerland (Reg. No. CHE-420.118.486), headquartered in Aleppo with branches in Azaz and Idlib, and operational access across all regions of Syria. GLOCA leverages technology and environmentally friendly tools to promote inclusive and sustainable development. Its mission is to empower civil society, especially youth and women, to become leaders in building just and democratic communities. This is achieved through education, civic engagement, urban development, and the use of modern digital tools. GLOCA’s programs focus on: Empowering youth with leadership and digital skills to drive peacebuilding and socio-economic recovery. Strengthening civil society organizations by enhancing governance, transparency, and digital transformation. Advancing human rights through advocacy, institutional capacity building, and supporting victims of violations, including enforced disappearance and gender-based violence. Promoting inclusive and data-driven urban planning via a comprehensive Urban Observatory that informs better policy decisions. Operating in a fragile and conflict-affected context, GLOCA acts as a catalyst for local change, supporting resilience, collaboration, and innovation. Its conflict-sensitive and participatory approach enables communities to reclaim agency, rebuild trust, and shape a more just and hopeful future for Syria. Through strategic partnerships, data-driven programming, and inclusive leadership, GLOCA contributes to a resilient, rights-based, and democratically governed Syrian society.
