We are a global coalition of funding organizations investing in research related to new or re-emerging infectious diseases. Our work focuses on increasing research preparedness, facilitating a rapid response, and strengthening collaboration and coordination among funders and other key stakeholders. The collaborative work that GloPID-R has accomplished since 2015, with a particular focus on preparedness and response to outbreaks including Ebola and Zika, allowed us to act swiftly and deliver a coordinated response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak as of January 2020.
Members & Governance
In 2024, GloPID-R has 35 members and 8 observers. It is governed by the GloPID-R Executive Board chaired by Mongezi Mdhluli of the South African Medical Research Council.
The GloPID-R Secretariat is a project which receives funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101094188.
