Glydez is a Perth start-up that's launched a patent pending 'no-tie' silicone shoelace.
It was founded by Perth businesswoman Christine McNee who saw an opportunity to redesign the shoelace so they would never come untied.
Glydez worked with Perth-based industrial design company, Form Designs to develop the diamond shaped silicone-based memory elastomer lace that will make traditional shoelaces redundant.
The laceless silicone concept has applications for work boots, sneakers, children’s shoes and for people facing fine motor skill challenges.
The silicone laces have undergone extensive testing in both laboratory and fitness arena’s to ensure they are water and fire resistant and won’t stretch over time.
Glydez laces are a smart and practical solution to a problem people face every day of their lives.
