Glytrix is developing a platform technology to address unmet needs in wound healing and tissue regeneration, with several large market opportunities. The company, founded by a team of experienced biomedical engineers and management, has created novel materials, termed peptidoglycans, that mimic natural tissue components. These peptidoglycans function on collagen that is exposed due to surgery, trauma wounds or angioplasty. The lead products are currently in late stage preclinical development for the prevention of scarring of the skin and for the prevention of platelet activation and restenosis after balloon angioplasty.
