Etableret i 2020, har den danske produktionsvirksomhed GMAF Circular Medico ApS, ejet af den danske fond Global Material & Asset Fond (materials.fund), udviklet verdens første medicinske mundbind Type IIR, der kan returneres til producenten, hvor over 90% af mundbindets materiale genindvindes og over 90% af CO2-udledningen reduceres gennem materialets hele levetid. Hoveddelen af mundbindets materiale, polypropylen, upcycles og bliver til "nyt" materiale i en ny produktcyklus af medicinske mundbind.
GMAF Circular Medico har udviklet værdifuld indsigt i udfordringerne og deraf skabt løsninger for etablering af returinfrastruktur hos sundhedsinstitutioner, returlogistik og upcycle- / desinfektionsprocessen for at holde sunde materialer i loopet.
På denne måde skabes engangsprodukter "as-a-service" uden at efterlade affald hos brugerne.
