Le Département de génie mécanique fait partie de la Faculté des sciences et de génie et regroupe 25 professeur(e)s ainsi que plus de 800 étudiant(e)s aux trois cycles. On y retrouve un atelier de fabrication mécanique à la fine pointe de la technologie ainsi qu’un atelier de prototypage électronique permettant de soutenir pleinement l'enseignement et la recherche. Il dispose d’une expertise reconnue internationalement dans plusieurs domaines de recherche du génie industriel et du génie mécanique. Avec ses programmes de formations aux trois cycles universitaires, il contribue d'une façon significative à la formation des ingénieur(e)s et du personnel hautement qualifié.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering and includes 25 professors, and more than 800 undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. It houses a machine shop at the cutting edge of technology as well as an electronics prototyping workshop that fully support teaching and research. It has an internationally recognized expertise in several fields of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering and contributes significantly to the training of Engineers and Highly Qualified Personnel.
