About Gateway and Natural Amenity Region (GNAR) Initiative
The GNAR Initiative exists to help Western gateway communities and their surrounding public lands thrive and preserve the things that make them special. GNAR is an affiliation of university faculty, government and state agencies, non-profit organizations, and community leaders. Our aim is to leverage research, education, and capacity building to assist communities, land managers, and others in gateway and natural amenity regions throughout the West to prepare for and respond to challenges their communities may face.
