Dr. George Ath. Kounis is 49 years old and was born in Heraklion, Crete, Greece. He has a bachelor's degree in Physics with a minor in Atomic, Molecular Physics, and Lasers (1997) from the Physics Department of the University of Crete. In Dec. of 2011, he created G&N Electronic and Medical Solutions in Greece aka GNEMS.
He acquired his PhD (2008) degree in Health Sciences at the Medical School of the University of Crete and worked as a researcher at the University of Crete from 1998 to 2010 with a rich research background with 50 peer-review publications and over 30 presentations in congresses in Ophthalmology and an international patent.
His background is Optoelectronics, High Power Lasers, Non-Linear optics, Computer Sciences, Programming, Wireless/Wired IP networks, Optical Fibers, Thermal Imaging and Biostatistics. He has taught for the University of Crete from 2006 to 2010 and 2024 the Medical School of NKU of Athens Master Programs.
