GoGreen

GoGreen is an app that promotes sustainable mobility with the aim to reduce air pollution. GoGreen is incubated in the Àrea Tallers at the Pompeu Fabra university in Barcelona and won the 2nd prize at the Las Rozas Blockchain Hackathon in June 2021. Problem Private motorized combustion vehicles are the main source of pollution in most cities around the globe. For example, in Spain, 11% of the fatalities every year are caused by air pollution. Solution GoGreen is a “move to help” gamified app that reduces air pollution. We leverage several technologies, including blockchain for transparency and ownership. Every time you walk or cycle, you receive points called GGs. Each GG represents 100 g of CO2 not generated if you would have used your car. These GGs can be used to look after a digital tree by providing love, water or sunshine. Thus, with your help, the tree can evolve, level up and release O2, its in-app currency. The entire community’s contribution is recorded and will give the tree its social value. A digital tree can be sold or exchanged between users. A share of the tree sales will be used to plant trees in the real world, thus helping reforestation, our most efficient tool against climate change. B2B GoGreen offers a new marketing tool to interact with customers by leveraging Web3 technologies and thus creating a positive impact. Companies can also use GoGreen to calculate the CO2 emissions from employees’ commuting to include in their overall carbon footprint reports.
