Jorge Gomes & Irmão (Gomarte), founded in 1976 by the brothers Jorge and Abílio Gomes, is amongst the leading Portuguese companies, producing tights and socks.
Strategically located in Barcelos, north of Portugal, (50 km from Oporto), in a region with a history of economic growth and development in the Textile Industry.
Over the past 40 year its family run administration has secured its position in the socks market, thanks to their motivation and professionalism. Currently, it has a production unit, of 12,000sqm, 120 employees and 400 modern production machines.
Today, Gomarte is amongst the leading European companies in the socks industry. This is a result of continuous team effort and a long-term relationship with their partners.

The range of products today is quite diverse. Capable of producing socks for men, women, children and baby, as well as technical sports socks including soccer, rugby and ski socks. Over 90% of the production (14,000,000 pairs/year) is exported and sold to stockists, boutiques, and chains stores worldwide.
