KOPRU

Köprü is a non profit organisation that strives to build understanding, peace and prosperity as a community through creative economy, using cultural heritage, traditional crafts, vernacular buildings and artistic expression; through which new economic opportunities and constructive interaction will develop. The Syrians in the southeast Turkey share very similar culture to the locals, in some cases share blood ties and language. They also share similar challenges such as unemployment, gender inequalities and economic barriers. GÖNÜL KÖPRÜSÜ aims to carry out projects/ initiatives that include both groups with the ultimate aim of creating economic opportunities and building an environment where resentment, grief and all the difficulties of co-existing after traumatic events can be expressed in a constructive way and contribute to positive dialogue.
