GOOD CITIES - Interreg Europe

Millions of underused consumer goods in European households contribute to financial waste, resource depletion, and climate change. Despite their significant environmental impact, these goods receive low political priority compared to mobility and housing. GOOD CITIES recognises the potential of peer-to-peer platforms but notes their struggle to scale due to inefficiencies and lack of support. European cities have the infrastructure and proximity for effective sharing but lack strategies and management. GOOD CITIES aims to reduce the ecological impact of goods by coordinating with local stakeholders and using policy tools. Public authorities will define their role, establish governance, and foster cooperation to create trust and sharing. This initiative promotes sustainable consumption and enhances EU and local environmental policies.
