Good Mother was originally founded in 2014 by Ian Jethmal, and Jared Jethmal. Both founders having heavy backgrounds in the Bay Area Art Culture. The intention being to bring a new focus to the extensive art culture thriving in the Bay Area as well as providing a new outlet for exposure for the artists on the forefront of this movement. Our mission is to advance public interest in innovative experimental work; to identify and exhibit the work of under-represented artists, and to engage the local community through participation in the arts. Good Mother is founded by artists in the community and is for the artists and the community alike.
After eight vibrant years at its previous location on 13th street in Downtown Oakland, the studio has relocated to continue its legacy of supporting the arts. Its new home opens doors to many new opportunities involving the community, artists, and art enthusiasts of all backgrounds.
