Goodvin Designs provides engineering support, envelope design, and pilot project leadership for natural and alternative building materials. Founded by Christina Goodvin, P.Eng., our practice blends deep building science with hands-on experience — helping projects using hempcrete, straw, earth, and other vapor-open systems move from concept to code-compliant construction. We don’t just advise on paper — we build, test, and refine assemblies in real-world conditions. From the first Canadian hempcrete dome to greenhouses, tiny homes, and high-moisture testing environments like saunas, our work is grounded in actual performance. We offer stamped engineering, design guidance, and collaboration from early planning through final build. We serve architects, builders, municipalities, housing innovators, First Nations, and material developers looking to responsibly use alternative materials in high-performance, fire-resilient, or climate-adaptive envelopes.
