The Goretti Center for Healing and Forgiveness is the general private practice of clinical psychologist Timothy G. Lock, Ph.D., and the clinical mental health counseling interns and residents practicing under his supervision, who together strive to integrate Catholic faith principles of healing with professional knowledge and experience to address the needs of the whole person: heart, mind and spirit.
Since 2000, Dr. Lock and the Goretti Center have provided psychological assessment and mental health counseling services for children, adolescents, adults, seniors, couples, and clergy and male and female religious.
Specialty areas include the treatment of those who suffer from anxiety disorders, sexual addictions, sexual issues, including sexual identity issues, as well as survivors of clergy abuse and all forms of abuse and trauma.
The Goretti Center also offers psychological evaluation and assessment with a special focus on the evaluation of clergy who have committed acts of adult misconduct as well as individuals applying to the seminary or religious life.
Additional services provided include clinical and pastoral consultation to bishops, clergy and religious, clinical psychotherapy supervision, clinical research consultation and supervision, and forensic consultation and evaluations.
