About our Publisher
Citizens Union Foundation of the City of New York, a non-profit research and education affiliate of a good-government group founded in 1897, believes that a well-informed citizenry is essential to a healthy democracy. In 1999, Citizens Union Foundation received a grant from the Charles Revson Foundation to create Gotham Gazette and help realize that goal, since then Gotham Gazette has evolved into a model for on-line local sites throughout the country and for nonprofit journalism.
