Why Frozen? Freezing helps to ensure that all the fresh, nutritious goodness- like antioxidants, vitamins, and even flavour- stays locked in the food until you are ready to eat. However, many of the products in the freezer aisle are hyper-processed, hyper refined, and full of additives and preservatives. All Gourmate recipes are formulated by chefs and nutritionists who ensure all the food is made without preservatives, unnatural additives or anything artificial. When done right, frozen food offers the perfect solution for those with busy lives – more convenience, superior nutrients, and flavour, plus less waste. How does it work? After cooking each meal from scratch, we blast freeze it at a temperature of -40 degrees Celsius, thus freezing the meal faster and consequently locking in those nutrients sooner and preserving the texture and quality of the food. It is as simple as that. Once frozen, the meal can be enjoyed directly from the freezer to the oven or microwave, anytime within the next six months (depending on the type of meal).
