The Government Finance Function vision is to put finance at the heart of decision making; Delivering value for money, strengthening public trust. The Government Finance Function brings together everyone who works in finance across government. We’re a diverse community of over 10,000 people spread across organisations and across the country. The Government Finance Function is brought together by our shared purpose, and delivery of our shared vision. Our strategy for 2022-25 builds on the achievements of the function and makes fresh actionable commitments to improve financial management across government. The Government Finance Function provides the critical infrastructure to control public spend and continuously drive efficiency across government. This strategy supports everyone involved in the management of public money to do their job more efficiently. The Government Finance Function Strategy supports the vision set out in the Declaration on Government Reform, for a skilled, innovative, and ambitious Civil Service, equipped for the future.
