Government Polytechnic, Ahmednagar established in 1990 and affiliated to MSBTE, had celebrated silver jubilee in 2014. The institute is approved by All India council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE).
At present, the institute is offering Three Year Diploma Courses in the following faculties.

The institute is spread over 17.39 acres in the heart of historical city of Ahmednagar which is the only Government polytechnic institute in the district. Ahmednagar is situated about 120 km from Pune and 114 km from Aurangabad.
