Scott Walker is the 45th Governor of the State of Wisconsin. He was elected and re-elected on the promise of putting Wisconsin taxpayers first, making government services more effective, efficient, and accountable, transforming education, investing in infrastructure, bolstering Wisconsin’s economy, and developing the state’s workforce.
Governor Walker’s bold, but prudent reforms transformed the state, and it is stronger today than it was six years ago.
Wisconsin is working. More people were employed in Wisconsin last year than at any point in the history of the state. Unemployment levels are the lowest in more than 15 years. And the percentage of people working in Wisconsin is one of the highest of any state in the country.
The state is open for business. Wisconsin’s improvement in the tax climate is one of the best in the nation. Health care systems are ranked in the top three in the country. And Wisconsin farmers continue to grow and produce some of the best food on the planet.
Wisconsin students are succeeding. Students throughout the state have some of the best graduation rates in the country. More than 90 percent of school districts in Wisconsin meet or exceed expectations according to report cards. And U.S. News and World Report moved the ranking of UW-Madison up on their list of best public colleges in the country; also giving positive mentions to 10 additional UW schools.
The future of the state is bright. Looking forward, Governor Walker will continue working and winning for Wisconsin.
