Der gPlug ist ein kleiner und preiswerter IoT-Adapter, um die Energiedaten über die lokale Smart Meter Kundenschnittstelle auszulesen. Mittels WiFi lässt sich der gPlug in das lokale Netzwerk einbinden und die Energieversorgung erfolgt ausschliesslich aus der Kundenschnittstelle. Die ausgelesenen Energiedaten können auf einer vom gPlug lokal generierten Webseite angezeigt oder von Smart Home Systemen weiter verarbeitet und zur optimalen Koordination anderer Smart-Home Geräte genutzt werden.
