Het Ghent Research institute for Art & cultural heritage Crime and law Enforcement is een onderzoeksproject dat ontstond uit overleg tussen de Universiteit Gent en de Lokale Gentse Politie.
GRACE wil in de eerste plaats een expertisecentrum zijn dat zich richt op het verzamelen en verspreiden van informatie. Op termijn zal deze projectgroep een aanspreekpunt worden voor externe partijen die informatie of expertise nodig hebben door middel van publicaties en studiedagen.
Ten tweede zal GRACE ook een platform zijn waar mensen uit verschillende sectoren elkaar ontmoeten, zowel op vergaderingen als georganiseerde evenementen, om contacten te leggen en informatie uit te wisselen over kunst- en erfgoedcriminaliteit.
