Amazing Grace Center Kenya C.B.O

The AGCK Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) and life skills community based education program, selects high potential vulnerable rural youth and young women affected by poverty, gender discrimination and disability. We increase their likelihood of completing 4 years of basic secondary education, improve their chance of performing better in sciences and math, and empower school aged underprivileged girls and young women to access digital skills training and vocational technical learning resources to make informed career and sexual reproductive health decisions. Located in Western Kenya, Vihiga is a rural community, 2nd smallest county with a high density population of 688,000 people, insufficient social, science and Technology resources and high rates of HIV/AIDS infections that leave many young women widowed, as single mothers and children as orphans living in child headed households without guardian support or a reliable source of income. We provide adoption of innovative and participatory development approaches; community sensitization, life skills development, economic empowerment, and community outreach programs for improved health and socio-economic status leading to transformed individual lives. Building on design thinking, we launched our SMART agribusiness training model in 2021, where unemployed youth and vulnerable women learn how to start a SMART agribusiness in two weeks or less using available materials and small spaces and access starter credit and farming kits to fight #foodinsecurity and #joblessness
