Gracias Algas is a family-owned, Chile-based wholesale seaweed company, dedicated to providing premium, organic seaweed in bulk to customers worldwide. Founded in the early 1990s in Chile’s Coquimbo region, Gracias Algas was born from the vision of María Graciela Ortiz, a marine biologist, and her husband, Rubén Rojas, an aquaculture engineer. Together, they saw an opportunity to sustainably cultivate, harvest, and export high-quality Chilean seaweed. Over the years, Gracias Algas has grown into a trusted name in the seaweed industry, working closely with local non-industrial fishing communities and associations. We are committed to fair trade and sustainability, overseeing every step of the production process—from cultivation and harvesting to drying and export. Our focus on quality and collaborative practices ensures our customers receive the best Chilean seaweed while supporting the communities that help make it possible.
