Gramata Development Corporation

Upon receiving a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago in 1991, I founded the Gramata Design & Construction Company with a focus on residential client projects from small scale to large scale. responsiblities included project bidding and contract negotiations. Project management and materials ordering and planning, project coordination and trade management, client-liason including change orders, trade order changes, work orders, on-site meetings and project coordination, as well as client-meetings and clear and accurate communications. In 1999, I founded the Gramata Development Corporation, a for-profit boutique design/build development company where I managed a team of staff, trade teams and subcontractors, carpenter crews and laborers. As a 'wears all hats' owner operator, my daily and quarterly responsibilities included land acquisition and negotiations, development funding, design of the projects, municipal code compliance and permitting, estimating and budget management, and project management and final sales and marketing of the speculative projects. The budgets varied but they eventually included larger scale residential luxury homes in the Chicago Lincoln Park, Bucktown/Wicker Park and Lakeview neighborhoods. In 2014, I completed our first USGBC LEED for Homes renovation project in Lincoln Park (Chicago) and received a LEED Platinum certification.
