Mission Statement: Assisting grandparents/Kinship guardians in Delaware County, Pa, who are raising their grandchildren primarily due to many issues such as the opioid epidemic, incarceration, mental health issues, death or illness of the parents that cause the parents to have the inability to fitness in their traditional parental roles. To assist by the creation of many holistic programs that will support the new grand-family financialy, psychologically, legally and socially to support the success of their new family unit. To educate governing county agencies and entities as well as primary care physicians, school districts, etc. regarding the complexity of Grand/Kinship family's needs. Future Longtime Goal: To expand GSU to support grandparents raising their grandchildren in every county in every state in the country.
