About Grape Expectations School of Winemaking Las Vegas

We specialize in the hands-on art of winemaking. It requires approximately 756 pounds of grapes to make one 53 gallon barrel of wine. Our grapes are hand-picked and placed in 36 pound crates in the vineyard to provide easy handling by our client winemakers. Once the harvest has been completed, the grapes are shipped to us in refrigerated trucks and the four step process begins. We have two winemaking seasons that are both approximately 8.5 months in length. The California winemaking season begins in September/October and ends in May/June of the following year. The Chilean and South African winemaking season begins in April/May and ends in February/March of the following year. The cost is based on the barrel usage...it doesn't matter if you decide to make a barrel of wine by yourself or you decide to include friends and family; the cost is the same and it includes the entire winemaking experience from start to finish to include crushing/de-stemming, pressing, racking and bottling. Winemakers end up with 20 cases of wine when it's all said and done which equates to 240 bottles of wine. History Established in 2005. Grape Expectations was established in 2005. Our first harvest was in 2007 utilizing grapes from California's north coast AVA. We added the Chilean harvest in 2013 and continue to offer both each year to our winemakers. The California harvest begins in September/October and the Chilean harvest begins in April/May.
