Since CEO Yoshikazu Tanaka released social networking service (SNS) GREE to the public in February 2004, GREE has grown into a major Japanese SNS with 30 million users and over 230 million users globally (as of the end of March 2012). GREE has maintained consistent growth as a social media platform supporting social applications.
GREE, Inc. is providing in-house social games, combining game and social function on SNS GREE. As of August 2012, GREE is providing 17 titles, including "Fishing Star", which was world's first mobile social game released in May 2007. A TV animation series has also been produced based on the popular game Driland.
