Ever since man discovered fire approx. 2 million years ago, we have been on an escalating path of reducing the naturally forested area of the earth. Today the earth can sustain approximately 11 billion acres of forested land per researchers at the Crowther Lab in Zurich, with only 60% of that land forested today. The countries with the greatest potential for reforestation, in order of available acreage are Russia (373M acres), the U.S (255M acres), Canada (194M acres), Australia (143M acres), Brazil (123M acres) and China (99M acres), in total representing nearly 1.2B acres available for reforestation in just those six countries alone. The top 5 leading carbon dioxide emitting countries represent over 20GT of annual CO2 emissions, nearly 60% of the total worlds released carbon dioxide. China (28%), U.S. (15%), India (7%) Russia Federation (5%), and Japan (3%). The average carbon dioxide sequestration of a well-managed tree forest is greater than 7 tons per acre with a natural byproduct of increased oxygen to the atmosphere, all with little to no net energy consumption. GCT seeks to partner with parties seeking to obtain the benefits of a natural ecosystem with enhanced carbon sequestration potential. GCT’s proprietary measurement technology allows for auditable carbon sequestration information to be provided in relatively real-time, with degreed forestry management personnel on-site to ensure reliability. GCT’s renewable forestation and wildlife management plans can provide entry points for interested parties at $5.00/ton or less, a fraction of the worldwide price for carbon dioxide credits. GCT expects revenue to accrue from the forestation and wildlife plan via sale of carbon credits, sustainable excess wood products, and working interests in the venture. Subject to individual review, the project(s) would also potentially qualify for IRS 45Q tax credits. 8.
