About GreEnergy project
GreEnergy is a project funded by the European Commission through the Horizon 2020 Programme which aims at developing optical nano-antennas as cost-effective solar energy harvester for a greener future. GreEnergy’s ambition is to define a new paradigm in the field of solar energy harvesting, by prototyping a self-powering system based on optical nano-antennas which can harvest solar energy, rectify the AC signal and use it to charge a micro-supercapacitor. The targeted overall efficiency of the demonstrators is around 20-40%, which is competitive with respect to the state of the art. Check out the project website (https://www.greenergy-project.eu) for more info about the technical approaches and challenges, areas of exploitation and applications, as well as the consortium partners and of course the latest achievements and key outcomes! This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101006963 (GreEnergy).
