On December 3rd, 2005, ORICEL became the fourth license issued by Ivorian authorities to operate as a mobile phone company. From that date till 2007, the responsible of ORICEL worked alone to open the network. With the entering of LAP GreenN in 2007 as a major shareholder (75%) a new breath arose and assisted to give way for the creation of GreenN CI the fifth operator.
On the 22nd of December 2008 GreenN CI was officially launched with a never before seen launch in simultaneously in 10cities at the same time throughout Côte d’Ivoire
GreenN as a social operator met the public’s adhesion and reached in a few months more than 925 000 subscribers. Unfortunately the years 2010 and 2011 affected the company’s dynamic with the crisis both in Côte d’Ivoire and Libya.
But with strength and determination, the all staff worked to maintain the business and GreenN CI is back. From 2013 to 2014, the up country cities closed were reopened GreenN CI currently has 8 cities on air, and a new commercial policy has been set up with the help of the group Commercial Director.
