GreenSpace is a registered charity which works to improve parks and green spaces by raising awareness, involving communities and creating skilled professionals. Improving parks and green spaces We facilitate regional forums, which enable green space professionals to come together and share information, ideas and experiences. The regional forums are a powerful force for undertaking joint research, responding to government policy, benchmarking and campaigning for better resources for parks and green spaces. Raising awareness We organise the annual Love Parks Week, a national campaign that promotes the benefits of parks and green spaces to the general public and encourages people to get out and enjoy hundreds of events taking place in parks across the country during the last week of July. Involving communities We facilitate the Community Network, an online information and networking resource which provides help and advice to community groups who are working to improve their local parks and green spaces. Creating skilled professionals We are affiliated to the Institute of Parks and Green Spaces (IPGS), the UK's only institute solely dedicated to those working in parks and green spaces. IPGS aims to advance the sustainable management and maintenance of parks and green spaces by improving education and training, influencing policy, identifying and promoting good practice and promoting working in the sector as an attractive career option.
