gregorysung, has created an evolution through an interaction with functional objects, spaces & sculptural artifacts. deeply rooted in the cultural underpinnings of our global society they communicate a clear hope for a future true to both human nature & our growing sophistication. born into a family of engineers, artists, & university professors on 3 continents, gregorysung was created in 2005 by gregory polletta and sung jang to represent the relationship between parent manufacturers - uppercase, and the child creator mindset - lowercase, as the openess of the child eye can in fact create a parent. working through sculpting & experimenting in design studios, machine shops & corporate research labs worldwide, gregory and sung are and have been lecturing professors on topics such as design innovation, new product development, spatial concepts, & aesthetics at the PARSONS PARIS SCHOOL OF DESIGN; ENPC / ECOLE NATIONALE DES PONTS ET CHAUSSEES PHD ENGINEERING & MBA PROGRAM; LUCERNE SCHOOL OF ART & DESIGN; SOOK MYUNG UNIVERSITY, SEOUL; UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE, DESIGN, AND THE ARTS; SCHOOL OF THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO; & RCA LONDON and many others culminating with works for: MAGIS, BANNANA REPUBLIC, PHILIPS DE PURY, ART BASEL MIAMI, GUZZINI, ATC, LONDON DESIGN COUNCIL, E-MY, DIETEKER, LIGNE ROSET, CRISTINA GRAJALES, ARTEMIDE, ROCHE BOBOIS, & many others. 20 years ago innovations were called "troublemaking" & green & green design work "biodegradable" however although marketing changes the future hasn't as isn't a mouse click away, it's a journey, an investigation & a synthesis to be launched. gregorysung shares instigations & creative curiosities today as the very first day, here to explore, synthesize, design & engineer for the future we are creating.
