After the devastation caused by Cyclone Idai in central Mozambique, the Government of Mozambique created on April 11, 2019 the Post-Cyclone Idai Reconstruction Office (GREPOC), under Decree No. 26/2019, to Supervise Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, Recovery and Reconstruction in the affected provinces. On May 22, 2019, GREPOC's mandate was extended through Decree No. 45/2019, to include the Recovery and Reconstruction of areas affected by Cyclone Kenneth in northern Mozambique. GREPOC is headquartered in Beira, capital of Sofala - the most affected province, as well as sub-offices in Maputo and Pemba.
