The Grid Integration Laboratory (GIL) at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, led by Prof. Zakir H. Rather (https://www.ese.iitb.ac.in/~gil/prof-zakir/), is an avant-garde centre for innovative research in sustainable energy. Nestled in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering of India's premier research institution, the GIL offers a thriving, collaborative and stimulating environment to the researchers and partners with diverse stakeholders in the power and energy sector to elevate the nation's progress towards sustainability. As one of the most dynamic research laboratories in the institute, GIL strives to be one of the leading centres on state-of-the-art energy research that helps achieve India's targets for sustainable energy, electrification of transport, energy efficiency and a secure and stable operational grid, and offers an enriching platform for promising engineers to express their talent and develop their research prowess. Our primary emphasis is on advanced and practical research and development in collaboration with academic and industry partners to develop innovative solutions to existing challenges in the power and energy domain.
