The Griffith Generals are members of the Northern League, an independent professional minor baseball league that's history dates back to 1902. The Griffith Generals, originally named the Joliet Generals, were formed in 2018 and are entering their sixth season in the league. The Generals made their second straight playoff appearance during the 2022 season after winning the 2021 league championship. In 2023, the team was renamed to the Griffith Generals and relocated to Griffith, Indiana. The team will play their home games at Griffith High School.
