GRITE - Group of Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Technological Innovation Group of the Federal University of São João Del-Rei, Campus / Center-West, Divinópolis was created in 2013 by Professors Alexsandro Galdino, Daniel Bonoto and Paulo Granjeiro with the objective of creating a in a multidisciplinary way, where teachers and students could conduct projects focused on the development of innovative products and processes that meet the demands of society. The acronym "GRITE" was created to allude to a "GRITO" against the traditional, stimulating the idea of "thinking outside the box" and valuing the most substantive aspects of people such as: creativity, individuality and freedom of expression. With the creation of the group, some UFSJ teachers began to act more actively, believing that their research could focus on a technological and applied bias. In this sense, in May 2016, GRITE organized the 1st Meeting of Technological Innovation with the CEFET / Divinópolis professors. The idea was to create an ecosystem of innovation bringing together teachers from the area of Engineering and Informatics (CEFET) with those from the biotechnology area (UFSJ), initiating the creation of innovative products and processes for society.
