Gronning Architects

Gronning Architects is a full service architectural firm based in Washington DC. For more than 20 years, we have promoted innovative modern architecture through designing new buildings and renovating old. We believe that architecture plays an important role in our everyday lives and that we as architects have a responsibility for creating functional and positive environments. We approach every project as a unique endeavor and believe it is essential for a successful project to be a collaborative effort. Whether designing pieces of furniture, installations or buildings, through quality of design, we hope to contribute a positive voice to our community. Our sister company, Gronning Design + Manufacturing, LLC (GDM), contributes to our expertise through fabrication and construction. GDM is a specialty fabrication shop with wood and steel capabilities. We believe it is essential for architects to have knowledge of fabrication and construction methods and GDM offers the opportunity for employees to gain first hand experience. This expertise is vital to how we approach the use of materials in our designs.
